Elays Network

The organisation Elays (beacon of light) Network, was founded in 2003 to provide a community support structure for young people, Adults and students at risk of school exclusion, not in employment, education or training. The evidence on low
educational attainment amongst young people and adults from deprived areas in
inner London and the increased risk of being involved in gangs and street violence
was having a degenerative impact on members of the community confidence and life chances.

Understanding this danger to community degeneration and cohesion, Elays Network was established to mobilise people from within the community to undertake peer-to-peer work that included mentoring within schools, out of school activities including film, drama productions, social media work, and organising social and community events.

To address the deep-rooted inequalities and to attend the
increasing demand for information, Advice and advocacy, we support our local
community through our four main departments,

  1. Youth Club
  2. Education and Training
  3. Health & Wellbeing
  4. Advice & Advocacy
