FORWARD (Foundation for Women’s Health Research and Development) is the leading African women-led organisation working to end violence against women and girls.

FORWARDUK (Foundation for Women’s Health Research & Development), an African diaspora-led women’s charity organisation working for the day when African girls and women will live in dignity, are healthy, have choices and enjoy equal rights free from fear of violence.

We are currently working in Ealing borough with communities, professionals and faith leaders to safeguard and protect vulnerable girls and improve the support pathway for women from countries affected by FGM (female genital mutilation).

In our work, we aim to find out from migrant communities their current experiences with support services and social care system and ways we can work together to create solutions that can help migrant women and girls access support services better and for professional to address their current challenges. Some of our work will include awareness raising workshops, events, community champions leadership training and other activities.

[I would like to take some time to introduce myself and this project and also find out more about your organisation/ role within Ealing]. As the community Support Worker, I will be speaking with community members in the coming months and beginning to deliver some awareness sessions.

We are committed towards gender equality and safeguarding the reproductive health and rights of African girls and women in particular to all forms of violence against women and girls.
